COLLEGE CREDIT PLUS (CCP) for the 2024-25 School Year

ATTENTION STUDENTS AND PARENTS!!!!

The CCP parent/student meeting was held in the Beaver Local auditorium on November 29, 2023 at 6:30pm.

For parents/students who were unable to attend this meeting, please click on the link below for the PowerPoint presentation. This presentation was covered during the meeting. Please review this entire presentation in order to understand the rules and regulations that go along with the positives and negatives of taking CCP courses.

 https://highered.ohio.gov/static/ccp/Public-Annual-Information-Session_v1.pdf

After a parent and student have reviewed the presentation, please have your student see Mrs. Barrett in the high school guidance office for the 'Intent to Participant' form.

Parents and students sign and return the form before 4/1/2024.

After turning in the 'Intent to Participate' form, the student must also apply to Kent State, and/or Eastern Gateway Community College, and/or YSU depending on their preference of college and classes of interest. Kent St, EGCC and YSU will each schedule a day to come to the school in the spring of 2024 to help students complete their applications.

** Note: Even if the student has already done CCP in past years, they must complete the ‘Intent to Participate’ form every year.

Welcome to the Beaver Local High School Counselor page!  We are the counselors for all students in grades 9-12, and Mrs. Barrett is the secretary for guidance.  The purpose of this page is to provide students with personal/social, academic, and career assistance. We have an open door policy.  However, when we are not in the building, please explore the links provided on the right.  Be sure to keep track of the scholarship spreadsheet, as scholarships are added and updated frequently.  Also, check the calendar of events on the bulletin board next to the guidance office so that you will know when college and military visits are scheduled.
